SAN JOSE, CA - The SAP Open, Northern California's premier men’s professional tennis tournament, has announced a new three-year partnership with Yonex. The new agreement recognizes Yonex as the official racquet, footwear and apparel supplier of the SAP Open through 2013.
Yonex will utilize this partnership to showcase its tennis racquets, footwear, apparel and accessories at the SAP Open. Also, tournament officials, ball kids, volunteers and tournament staff will be outfitted with Yonex apparel. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to purchase Yonex tennis equipment, apparel and footwear throughout tournament week.
The 2011 SAP Open will be played February 7 – 13 at HP Pavilion at San Jose. Already entered into the singles field are several of the world’s top players including SAP Open defending singles champion Fernando Verdasco of Spain, currently ranked #9 in the world. Also returning to San Jose is 2002 SAP Open winner and fan-favorite Australian Lleyton Hewitt. Hewitt won the ’02 SAP Open as well as the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon with a Yonex racquet.
